Hugh For Romney

Here is something new…I’m actually posting an opinion blog…been a while.

But listening to a reply of Hugh Hewitt’s radio show from Tuesday has just put me in the mood to voice my incredulity. I have to say that Hugh can be such a dork sometimes. This ludicrous pretense he has that he isn’t in the bag for Romney. PLEASE!!! I mean come on Hugh.

Hugh has gone into his “I’m going to mock and, ridicule and otherwise impugn your wisdom, intelligence and political acumen if you suggest that there is ANY other candidate besides Romney. It’s one of Hugh Hewitt’s more distasteful attributes. He did the same thing to everyone who thought Harriet Miers had to go. He was wrong then too.

I could actually take it if he was just honest about his position and admitted that Romney is his choice. But he pretends that he hasn’t decided yet. Never mind that he has written a book called “A Mormon in the Whitehouse.” The fawning over a Romney advertisement for Pete’s sake…and not even a very good one.

For my own part I’m not a Romneyite (which no doubt in Hugh’s world makes me a lunatic.) If I had my choice it wouldn’t be anyone currently running (which puts me in the ranks of about 65% of the party) I have to admit I have been impressed with Giuliani lately. Yes he is more liberal than me but I like his candor about it. He talks genuinely tough on terrorism and doesn’t pretend to be something he isn’t. I find his line easier to swallow than Romney’s “ I suddenly became pro-life after a conference on Stem Cell research.” I forget who said it but I THINK it was Jonah Goldberg on Bill Bennett’s show who said something like “Taking a claw hammer to an 8 months old head was fine with you but at embryonic stem cell research you just suddenly had to draw the line.” It just smacks of opportunism rather than conviction and I ain’t buying...anymore than I’m buying his recent joining of the NRA. Everything about Romney just reeks “used car salesman.”

I've Been "Tagged"

First off I want to apologize to anyone who regularly visits my sight for its lack of content recently.

A combination of an overwhelming work load coupled with such utter disgust with the government at all levels that made me want to throw up may hands topped off by just a tiredness of the negativity that constantly blogging about the failures of our leadership to lead responsibly and courageously brings finally took its toll and so for the past couple weeks there just hasn’t been much blogging on my part.

Then James over at http://bigasrants.townhall.com tagged me…a sort of chain letter blogging.

So here are apparently the rules:

"People who get tagged need to write a blog stating 6 unusual or weird things about themselves as well as state this rule clearly. In the end of the post, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names and links. Don't forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog."

  1. I was once so rabidly socialist that like most liberals I despised my country for it capitalist blah blah blah…only to eventually realize it was myself I didn’t like very much…wow what a difference growing up makes.
  2. I adore my inlaws.
  3. My Bachelors degree is in Theatre Directing and I was involved in theatre from the time I was 14 until I was 27…then I got a real job.
  4. My family tree on my mother’s grandmother’s side traces their direct line back to one of the original colonists of Connecticut.
  5. I love to cook and bake breads as a hobby.
  6. I concur with Ben Franklin who wrote in a letter to the French Economist Andre Mollet, “Behold the rain which descends from heaven upon our vineyard; there it enters the roots of the vines, to be changed into wine; a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy.”
