Response to MN Republican PartyChairman

Got a letter the other day fromt he chairman of the Minnsota Republican party. It was a form letter that basically said we needed to wake up to stop the democrats. It then admonished me to contribute money to the party. Apparently, he thinks its my fault that elected republicans are incompetent and have driven conservative republicans into staying home and closing their wallet. I had a momentary flashback to Jimmy Carter sitting in the oval office scolding americans for being the problem with the country.

I responded even though I know he will never read the email..some loyal collage age aid will read it if anyone does and throw it away as not being important probably..but at least I responded.

Mr. Chairman,

When the republican party starts acting like a conservative party Ill contribute.

I am finished supporting liberal republicans who raise fee's so they dont have to cop to raising taxes, shove environmental nonsense down my throats so I cant afford to cool my home or drive my car and generally speaking spend like drunken sailors instead of really drunken binging sailors (democrats) and think that is somehow a virtue.

Sincerely,

One Really Fed Up CONSERVATIVE

The Environmental Lie

As the years have passed and now with increasing speed and intensity I have grown from being supportive to being skeptical to scornful to contemptuous to outright hostility toward the environmental movement.

My reason for every supporting them?  Because when I was a kid they sent me pictures of baby seals.  Now many years later as an adult I realize that that is ALL they have.   An emotional, aesthetic apeal that has nothing to do with fact and reality. Environmental groups don't practice science...they engage in political statements and drum up cherry picked evidence to support their pronouncments. It's one of the reasons why "computer models" are so prevelant in the field. They can't use real data because it doesn't support their predefined conclusions..they have to go out and write software that gives them the results they want. Ever wonder how they can accuratle predict global climate change with computer models that fail to backtest against existing data...well the answer is of course they cant they cant even accurate predict teh temperature tommorrow let alone in twenty years, but that doesnt stop idiot senators like Barbara Boxer from trumpeting the computer model results in congressional hearings.

Take the polar bear. The actual facts of polar bears rising populations over the last 30 years are counter to their purpose so instead they hand pick the data from one or two of the population segements that actually are struggling and use that as an argument to cover the entire species....but hey they throw in a pictur eof a polar bear on an iceberg so it must be true (by the way polar bears swim).

Of course polar bears arent really the issue..socialism is. The entire environmental movement is nothing more than back door communism. An attempt to collectivize people under the umbrella of "saving the planet". The planet however doesnt need saving. Their primary target of course is energy. They understand, even if the general publisc does not, that industrial, free markets require cheap and abundant energy...control the energy..you control society.  Very seldom of course do their plans however get taken to their natural conclusion. No electricity, no transportation, no running water...preindustrial society. People shoudl seriously ask themselves if that is what they want for themselves and for their children the next time they pull the lever for a democrat because that is precisely where they are taking us.

Long before that our economy will collapse however under the strain of not having the energy it needs to sustain itself...and with the econoy will go the jobs, the houses, the food. The only real question is how far down this idiotic suicidal path we will go before the public at large begins to undertsnad the consequences of our actions and decides to kick out the bums who lead us down the path. How much dmage will be done before we realize how stupid we have been?

At the beginning I stated that I have now outright hostile towards environmentalists. The typical argument of course is that I must therefore be in favor of destroying the environemtn. Im not of course. I care about a healthy planet as much as the next guy..unlike environmentalists cooks however I understand that the one things that is constant about the planet is that it is contantly changing. The temperature always changes, the climate always changes, where there are trees now there will be wetlands tommorrow and where their are wtlands tommorrow their may be desert in teh future. My cooling my home in summer isnt going to change that. My existence on the planet will not stop it from occuring.

I've gone overlong here but this article prompted me..it kind of exemplifies what I am talking about. The realities of political environmental nonsense are far from the truth of the planet.

T Boone right...and wrong

Well T Boone is running out and telling congress that we need to resolve our energy crisis.

If you listen to his adds on teh radio you know he is engaged in an all out offensive on this issue.

Well kudos to him.

He is right to suggest that we are in a crises and we need to resolve it. The success of any industrialized society relies on the accessibility of cheap and abundant energy.  This notion that we can sustain paying 4-5$ a gallon of gas and rising (not to mention the oteghr increasing costs like heating and cooling electricity and natural gas etc.) is absurd. We will bury our economy if we continue down this route. We will end up in a depression and people can kiss their jobs goodbye their homes goodbye and all the rest of it. I wonder how much the average joe will care about Al Gore's hysterics abotu the planet having a fever when they have no home no job and no prospects for either. Kids hungry or recycling..hmm wonder what your priority will be.

Life when broken doewn to its fundamental parts is to quote Thomas Hobbes "solitary, poor, nasty, bruttish and short" It is only the luxury of plenty that allows our society to even contemplate such inantities as wheter or not a coal fired power plant is good for the environment.  ONce people dont have homes Im guessing a lump of coal to keep warm wont elictae the response "well I shouldnt keep my baby warm because this coal will emite co2 into the atmosphere. When we have broken our economy and destroyed our way of life with this suicidal nonsense we can at least take comfort that we wont be listening to the environmental lunatics anymore.

However where I disagree with T Boone is this absurd notion of wind power. Im guessing he is pushing it for financial gain (being heavily invested in wind power certain doesnt hurt his position if we engae in a national plan to build a massive wind farm.  However wind power is a canard..any sustainable power source that relies on the weather to be predictable is an absurdity. Note this article.  Basically In Texas where they make more use of wind power than in any other state they experience power blackouts when ::GASP:: the wind died. So is that what we want then...T Boone suggests that 20 percent of the nations power can be covered through wind...we really want to have a sudden loss of 20 percent of our nations consumable energy because of a freak calm in the weather. I dont think so.

I am with most people..I am all for us finding some kind of sustainable renewable energy supply.  But right now there isnt a reliable one oustide of petroleum, coal and nuclear.  Eventually we will get there..and I would definately like to seeus moving more and more in this direction but I want us to move their in responsible meaningful market driven steps that make use of the abundant energy source we have now whle research new and better alternatives. Right now though they dont exist and pushing us out of the petroleum bed before we find a replacement is just suicide.

Obama media love affair is getting to be obnoxious

I would say its beginning to get rediculous but it got redilculous long ago.

It seems the media has completely dropped even the slightest attempt to appear honest in its coverage. Instead they have gone full bore into worship Obama mode..Every news anchor goes overseas with him, New York Time censors his opponent... even Foxnews cant seem to escape from the screaming vortex of obamamania

Look at this idiotic headline from foxnews.  Its listed as "Breaking News"

Are we now to start being treated to an obama reference in every news article?

Car accident on road that Obama once drove on.
Robbery in grocery store Obama shopped at.
Abraham Lincoln's memorial just a few blocks from Obama's office.
Obama's likeness found in grilled cheese sandwich.

Excuse me while I go vomit in a toilet just 400 miles from where Obama once relieved his own bowels
